The secret weapon to major fat loss is….MUSCLE!!! Yes muscle to the secret to dropping the stubborn body fat and really making major improvements to your physique! Visualize changing your ratios of lean muscle and stubborn adipose fat. Increasing your lean muscle is like dumping gasoline on the big camp fire! Lean muscle tissue burns big calories!! Now I know what you are thinking….I don’t want to look like a guy or a huge body builder! This fallacy is what I truely think scares the non bodybuilder from weight training! Here are a few thoughts to ponder. How do guys stay super lean without massive amounts of cardiovascular exercise? Most people pull the genetics card out when this subject is mentioned! I often hear people say ”well he is a guy and they can drop bodyweight easy“. The reason men drop excessive weight and fat easy is because of MUSCLE and for some GENETICS! Muscle and Fitness or better known as Muscle and Fiction often show these huge bodybuilders and latest supplement ads that will vaporize fat. The truth is that only the top 3% of the population can achieve these results without the usage of Anabolic Steroids! So do not let these fitness magazines or big supplement advertisements mislead you! Be careful of all the fitness infomercials that are tempting you for the big new years resolutions!!!!
When you walk into the gym look at the types of people in the areas of the gym. Look at the people on the cardio deck…now look at the people in the weight room? What look do you want? How about a blend of both?
Do you think this guy could do a fitness boot camp?
Can we burn fat and build muscle at the same time? I truely believe so!! A recent study released by the National Sports Council of Exercise stated that people that participate in a fitness program that blends both anaerobic and aerobic together in one session show both a reduction of bodyfat and an increase of lean musle tissue! The key point of the study stated that INTENSITY was the key to major fat loss! This is why I am major fan of the HIIT training program that I use and also our N-10sive Boot Camp program. These fitness programs blended with my Fat Loss Blueprint called the “Shred” have produced astonishing results with people in a short amount of time!
When I was at my last world powerlifting meet I happened to notice this guy from Austria that was wearing a shirt that stated “Muscle Kills Fat“. This shirt hit the nail right on the head! I truely believe people approach fat loss with the wrong program. One key ingredient they leave out is INTENSITY AND EFFICIENCY!!
So when designing your fat loss program do not leave out the element of weight training. Don’t worry about becoming big and bulky! This only happens if you are eating and training for this goal! Avoid doing long durations of cardio. Try incorporating Hiit training into your routine or better yet a full body circuit blending in the Hiit training method.
