8 Tips To Help You Stay On Your Fitness Program

The month of January is a huge month for fitness clubs everywhere!  The statistics show that there is a 65% drop out for all new members that join in the month of January.  Why are these numbers so high?  I truely believe that people need to live by these 8 tips to be what I call a ” Master”.  A master is an individual who maintains their body fat or weight loss off for 1+ year!  So…here are 8 tips to help you:)

  1. Concrete Goals-  Remember a goal that is not written down is just a dream!  Write your short, mid, and long term goals down!
  2. Accountability-  Your team of supporters are very important for long term success.  Have a group, friends, family, or internet support to help keep you accountable.
  3. Review your goals-  Your goals need to be visible to review often.  An old workout partner had placed my big deadlift goal on my screen saver of my cell phone.  Every single time I used my phone it reminded me of my purpose to train!
  4. Have a plan-  A training log is very important for long term success!  Visualize your training log as your blue print for fitness success.
  5. Priorities-  If you want to be your best your fitness goals must be a strong priority.  If you want 6 pack abs you can not drink alcohol Friday and Saturday nights and expect a ripped stomach!
  6. Slow and steady wins the race-  To prevent burnout choose your determination wisely!  Many will go crazy in the first 30 days only to find themselves mentally and physically burned out!
  7. Choose the right nutrition program-  Not all programs are the right match for you.  Choose wisely!
  8. Seek help-  Form your team of consultants!  Hire experts to help guide you to your fitness success!
